St. Francis is known as the patron saint of animals as well as ecology.  In honor of this beloved saint, Trinity Hospital Twin City will hold a special blessing for pets on Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:30 pm outside the main entrance of the hospital.  An official from Immaculate Conception Church of Dennison will conduct and celebrate this Blessing of Pets.  All are invited to bring their pet(s) for this blessing.  Please bring the pets on a leash, in a cage or some contained space and also bring something for “clean-up.”

This event is held in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  Francis was born in 1181 and was only 45 when he died in 1226.  He was a dynamic person who has impacted the world even to this day.  His conversion experience led him to a deep love for all God’s creatures, even the animals.  He called them his brothers and sisters from brother wolf to sister rabbit.

“All are invited to bring their pets for this blessing and opportunity to pray for our furry friends,” shared Jennifer Demuth, hospital marketing coordinator. “Please bring the pets on a leash, in a cage or some contained space and also bring something for ‘clean-up.’"
